Hi, welcome to my blog.
My name is Philip Jackson. I first became involved in motorsport at about the age of 19 when a friend suggested that we take our newly purchased motorcycles (very second-hand) on a ride up to see our local motorcycle road race.
Little did I know that I was on my way to see one of the fastest road races in the world and on a very wet day in August at ‘The Ulster Grand Prix’ a passion for speed was ignited inside me and a career in motorsport became inevitable.
Once you are ‘Bitten’ by the motorsport bug you are drawn into a world of speed, friendship, hard work, long nights, and some of the best times of your life!
How to set faster times
At the start of my career, I was in conversation with the leading motorsport scrutineer in Northern Ireland and he gave me some very sound advice. We were asking about setting faster times when we started Rallying and his advice was 'First of all, to go faster make sure that your car stops well !
We found out that this was indeed sound advice because a car that handles well and stops well, will be your best way to improve both (and most importantly) your safety, and your speed.
